Michael you are in my prayers that all will go well for you. Life is full of challenges. My wife Nancy has had a hard time this Christmas because it is her first Christmas without her Dad who passed away on June 7,2022. He was living with us here in Casper,Wyoming when he passed. I have a few health challenges of my own but nothing what you are going through. I found out in December that I have cataracts on both eyes that will require surgery, Also I may be diabetic but both are managable. I enjoyed watching Mr Krueger’s Christmas and Nora’s Christmas Gift recently.
Dear Michael,
I have watched the Forgotten Carols many times when you have come to Logan. However, the year my son passed away we went to see your show and the lyrics and words spoke to my heart as if Chris was right there with me. I purchased an ornament, bracelet and a wood sign from my favorite song We Can Be Together Forever Someday. For these last 5 years I display that sign by a Christmas tree decorated with white lights, ornaments of hope, believe, peace and joy of our Savior along with your ornament. It is my favorite tree I put up each year and that sign reminds me we will be together forever. I hear your words as I look at that tree and your sign.
Michael, just last week a beautiful friend who has fought the odds to live passed away. She was sent to this earth 23 years ago to be a true disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and with her many health challenges since birth brought joy, strength, courage and love to so many of us. Now Chloe loved Christmas and began decorating with her family in November. She played the Forgotten Carols throughout the season and yes has seen your show several times too. Chloe was everything to her mom Kim and to all of us that knew her. I was wondering if your staff could help me to purchase that plaque or any merchandise that has those words. I know you are facing a healing time of your own right now and I will pray for your strong recovery. However if it is at all possible to be in touch with anyone on your staff that could help me grant this wish for her mom, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your gift of such touching music. It truly is miraculous. Sandy Curtis
Hi, Mr. McLean! I hope you are having a great day and healing speedily from your surgery. I attended one of your shows a few years ago and loved it. Merry late Christmas!
We love love, love The Forgotten Carol’s and Michael McClean. We started the tradition with tickets for our entire family many, many years ago. It is magic to our souls! It leaves you with a feeling of hope and wonder, yet teaches some important principles of families being together forever. We live in Roosevelt now and do not drive at night. This year we enjoyed the video, which was so very well done!

Michael, You are an inspiration to so many. I have attended The Forgotten Carols several times and it has become a tradition in our family. We love the story and the music. I still remember you coming to my house in Heber to practice a song with my dad (Ken Smith) and me when I was a teenager. It is such a wonderful memory now that he has passed. I have enjoyed your music and plays for years. Thank you for all that you have shared with so many over the years. Thanks for letting us “celebrate your light!!” I hope you continue to recover. You are so loved and admired.
Michael,
It is great to hear that surgery went well and that things are looking good so far. So happy to hear that! I just wanted you to know that I am grateful for your music that you do willingly share with all of us. I have loved seeing you over the years and have enjoyed the Forgotten Carols many years. I am grateful we have music to lift us up when we are struggling. Lately I have been struggling due to my own health issues that I wish had an answer to. Music from so many people is what helps me keep going. I do wish more of your songs were on Spotify so I could listen to them in my car. Hopefully one day you will add them on there.
Hope you and your family are having a wonderful Christmas. May you all find joy and peace.
Continue to rest and feel better soon!!
Much love,
Tammy from Pocatello
Michael, we are grateful you have been blessed with a new kidney! Our prayers are with you for a quick recovery. Forgotten Carols has been a part of our Christmas since your one man show. Our first experience was in Cedar City at SUU and it’s spirit and message helped my husband begin to “Let Him In”. The gift of your music has brought so much joy to us over the years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing with us and making Christmas complete. May the Lord’s choicest blessings be with you and your family. Merry Christmas! Love the Doty family
Michael. We just watched your show in St George. Beautiful. Thank you for sharing all your songs. My family, especially me and my daughters love playing your songs. Get well soon. So glad you were able to get a new kidney. Luv and prayers. Bev
Merry Christmas and Happy 2023
I have always loved the forgotten carols, and I remember the magic and excitement from the first time I saw this performance. With all the chaos of the past years, I have felt that I have come to lose a bit of the magic of Christmas. When I saw that forgotten carols was coming again, I immediately knew I had to go. Once Michael’s face came up at the beginning of the show, I immediately teared up and felt the warmth and joy that comes with Christmas that I haven’t felt in years. The show has changed, but the spirit hasn’t. Thank you for touching my life.
Michael we wish you the very best with your healing. A kidney transplant is a very difficult time we watched my wife’s cousin go through that. But know that you are in our prayers. Each year I have come since marrying my wife I have felt a connection to my family that has last akin to what is felt at the temple. You have a way of creating an atmosphere where that opportunity can take place. I have battled an addiction for years and each year I come I have felt very much the power of the Atonement of our Lord and savior renewing me. Again thank your for creating such a sacred environment where these feelings are felt. May we be together forever someday.
Dearest Michael & Lynne,
This is from the Tamerie Jensen household. You are always in our prayers and here’s to many more years of good health. You are loved, and I am blessed to have met you so many times over the years. You are truly blessed in many ways. You are strong, and I’m moved in many ways as to how much the Forgotten Carols have changed and I got to see it in a new way that I’ve not seen before. Thanks for all you do for us to keep Christ in Christmas.
Michael, years ago, when my granddaughter was 3, my daughter, Ariel, my granddaughter, Emily, and I began going to The Forgotten Carols every Christmas.
Three years ago, Ariel passed away suddenly and unexpectedly just before Thanksgiving. Then Covid. Tonight, Emily and I are back, together, and even though the program is changed from 11 years ago, my heart is full and so, so grateful.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I will pray for you and your family.
Michael,
My family and I are praying for you for a quick recovery from your recent kidney transplant. The Forgotten Carols and Mr. Krueger’s Christmas have been staple holiday traditions in our family. Thank you for all the amazing work you have produced and directed to remind us of Christ during Christmas time. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Love,
The Ng Family
Michael our thought and prayers are with you. I have loved and listened to your music since my mission in 87. Love the forgotten carols and was in tears during your follow him podcast appearance. Best wishes.
Michael thank you for creating such a beautiful show. It is now our tradition here in Utah. I am always moved to tears by the emotions I feel despite knowing it so well. We hope you heal well and maybe will see you back in 2023. Even just for Silent Night.
Thanks so much I came to a concert one year and was touched by the magic of the play thanks again for that.
Also hope things are going well with you after your recent surgery, praying for a speedy recovery 😉
Michael
My prayers are extended to you and your family. May you all be blessed with the comfort of the season of feel the love of all of us who adore you and your talents. I first had the chance to meet you back in 1998 in a tiny high school in Beaver Utah where my Aunt Vicki Hutchings helped you prepare your tree and gather your choir and homeless. Some of my school mates played the homeless. I have never felt the spirit so beautiful as I did that night. My mother and I wept through the entire experience. Since then I’ve attended every performance I could near me in Cedar City. I definitely plan to attend this week in St George. You will be missed but your spirit will there I am sure. I treasure your beautiful songs also outside of the carols. A favorite is hold on the light will come. It gives me hope when my depression hits which is usually always. But you help me remember I am loved by heavenly parents and they think I’m okay even when I don’t.
Have a merry Christmas and may you be blessed through this life
Love always
Jodi
Michael, I’ve always been a member of the church but it was through your all your music and the spirit that is felt in The Best 2 Years and especially The Forgotten Carols that helped me gain a testimony of the gospel. The Forgotten Carols are a family tradition and I watch it all year round. Your music has touched my life in more ways than you could ever know. It’s everything to me. Wishing you healing as you go through this trial in your life, and hoping that the Lords will allows for us to see you perform for many many years to come.
Your words and the Spirit that you bring have been life changing! Many prayers for peace and healing!
Dear Michael, Friday,, 16 December is a day I’ll never forget is the first time I’ve ever seen the live performance of the forgotten carols. I cannot thank you enough for sharing that part of yourself with me personally on that night my wife had seen it many times over the years. It touched my life and undescribable ways, and the memories of hearing the music over the years flooded back. It was haunting, melodies the cast their voices their performances were nothing short of phenomenal. You are in our prayers, and in our hearts, and I’m so grateful that this gift of the forgotten carols will live on. I will be eternally grateful for your talent for the love you share with so many merry Christmas Michael to you and your family. 💕🎄
Your music (mostly lyrics) helped save my life 30 years ago. No big deal lol. Just saved my life only. Your music is nigh unto scripture.
We love you Michael!
#holdonthelightwillcome
So happy to hear about your brand new kidney!! Just want to report, the Salt Lake City Saturday matinee was a huge success!! You got a standing ovation and you weren’t even there in person! Today was my 30th year. Now my children and grandchildren come with me!! We all love you and you family, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May our Heavenly Father continue to bless you, now and always!! ❤️
I have been coming to The Forgotten Carols since I was a young girl. From the beginning note, my heart is tender and so full. Christmas isn’t Christmas without it. They told us tonight that you and your donor are doing well! I’m praying for your full recovery. Merry Christmas, Michael. Thank you for sharing your light.
Mike, we are celebrating your wonderful news by watching the Carols for year number 30. Dixie, Heather, Tara, their husbands, also our 7 grandkids. We are praying for you and the entire clan. God’s speed my friend. The Roy Guys, Bruce and Dixie Baughman
Michael, your music has been a boon to my soul for many, many years. Each time I feel the measure of my faith waning, something you penned reminds me of my worth in the eyes of the Father; the only worth that truly means anything. The first time I experienced this was in 1998 in Logan, Utah. I was part of the choir for The Forgotten Carols that December. I’d been having a particularly rough week, feeling very abandoned, alone, and, well, forgotten. Before the show that night, you were chatting with the members of the choir, and suddenly you turned to me and asked if we could share a hug. During that brief embrace, you whispered to me: “God sees you, He knows, and oh, how He loves you!” Later, during the performance of Handel’s Carol, I heard a voice, clear as anything, that made me know that I was in the Angel Choir that heralded the Savior’s birth. I looked at you with tears in my eyes, and I swear you winked at me. I’ll never forget that night, nor your kindness. Thank you so much for being a mouthpiece for the Father, and for being so willing to share your talents with the world.
Michael,
You are in my prayers. I attended on December 15th and it was such an amazing performance. I have been attending since 1999 and I have loved it every year. This year, the shepherd song affected me like never before. Just like the carol says, I was not in Bethlehem to witness the birth but I have a sacred testimony that the Lord was here and that he is real. Thank you for blessing the world with your songs and music.
My families thoughts and prayers are with you Michael, for so many years you have brought the spirit into our hearts as the holiday season begins each year. I love bringing my kids to this amazing production and making lasting new memories each year. It will never be the same without you on stage, but I’m grateful that you started this legacy the will live on in all of our hearts forever, long after the show, the tour ends. Thank you for the JOY you have brought my family and so many others over the years. God bless you and hope for a full and speedy recovery. Furniss family
Thank you Michael McLean for this wonderful message and beautiful play. It is been a family tradition for as long as I can remember.
I can’t think of a better way to invite the Christmas season in then listening to the the forgotten carols music thank you so much for this
Missing you bud.
God bless you.
Rock on and on and on my friend!
Hi Mr. McLean!
You are amazing. I would like to thank you for the way your music has changed my life. I saw Forgotten Carols for the first time in my memory when I was 13. I just fell in love with it. The music touched my heart, and the ending song brought tears to my eyes as I sang to my grandpa on the other side of the veil that “We will be together someday.” My prayers are with you, and I hope you heal well and quickly.
I hope that everything goes well and that your body accepts the kidney. You are very much missed, but know that the cast you have will make sure it’s done beautifully! I was brought to this about 5 years ago and it my heart in ways I can not express. It was just what I needed to hear that that time in my life. I have been coming to one every year since then!
Michael,
Thank you so much for your beautiful talent and ability to follow the Spirit in writing and sharing your music!!! Me and my boyfriend saw The Forgotten Carols tonight and my heart felt so much joy, peace and light. I felt the Savior so near and the Spirit so strong. I sing too and I have always felt close to my Heavenly Father and Savior through music! It’s so powerful and is one thing we can have with us always (out of the few). I read your story and heard Let Him In and Three Kings a few years ago and ever since have dreamt of seeing this production in person, and tonight that dream came true. Christmas music and this time of year is the best. I hope to make a CD someday and do what I love most too, share the gift of music! So from one lover of music to another- THANK YOU!!! ❤️
Michael and Family,
I have been taking my family to the carols for over ten years now. It started with just my wife and I and it’s grown to five of us this year with three of our kids attending this year.
Just wanted to give you a big shout out and tell you how much we love the show and the music. You have been so blessed with many musical talents and testimony. God Bless you and your family as you heal up from surgery, and may it be speedy.
My kids love homeless and three kings. Thank you again for sharing your talents with us. We wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
God Bless you Michael.
Love the Travis Redd Family
Wishing you a speeding recovery and much love from my heart to yours. You are an amazing man and your music speaks to my heart.
Dear Michael-
Our family is sending you so much love and so many prayers right now. And to your wife and family. My family has been through the agonizing wait for a lifesaving transplant and the fears and uncertainties and worries that come with it. We are on the other side now and can honestly say that we felt angels walking with us the whole way. I know that they are with you too.
You have been such a blessing in our lives. Funny how we can feel that way knowing that we’ve never met- but your music has lifted us in our darkest times, and brought joy and smiles when they are needed most.
I have listened over and over to your story of your faith journey and the way you fought thru it. It has brought me so much hope. My daughter came out to us a couple of years ago and I felt like you were telling my own story. You have helped more than you could know- and it gives me hope that if I hold on the light will come. (Another one of your songs that has been on repeat lately. Lol)
I’m praying for you. You’ve got this.
Love,
Shannon
Hi Michael,
I last saw you in Logan at USU with my kids around 2005. I am so glad to be able to come see your 30th Anniversary Show tonight. It would be nice to speak with you tonight but You and Lynne are probably busy getting back home. Please be safe going over the mountain. Merry Christmas. It is my dream to sing “ I Was Not His Father” my most favorite song!!, with you some day.
Michael,
A long time ago, I was a Deaf/HOH return missionary who attended a fireside you gave in Spokane. There had been a mess up somewhere and there was no interpreter available. So I knew your music so well, that I volunteered to interpret your music and my lovely friend, Linda tried to take turns with me. You shook our hands, listened, then prayed for us specifically in you opening prayer. I used to think your greatest gift was music but after that I thought your true gift was to really listen. Then a little over 2-3yrs ago my mind was changed about your gifts yet again.
My dear Friend Linda died from Covid complications. The last thing I heard from her was a call saying she saw you again. She spoke excitedly and with love saying, “Pati, he remembered me! He remembered us interpreting. He said to me ‘Hello, my dear friend Linda.’”
So now I think your greatest gift is finding and sharing joy. Thank you for giving me that last, beautiful conversation with my dearest friend.
I hope so much for you and your family. May His Love see you all through this season of life.
With a grateful heart, thank you!
Pati
Michael,
We were so happy to hear tonight in Ogden that your transplant went well and you ate home resting and praying.
Tonight we took my teenage daughters best friend with who is not a member but has been learning about God and Christ. She said in the car it was very neat and probably her favorite production now and she was fighting tears at the end. That madey heart happy.
We continue to pray for you and your family thank you for trusting others with this beautiful message and to share it this year.
Best of wishes Merry Christmas❤
Hey Michael,
My family and I just left the performance of Forgotten Carols in Ogden! It was my first time seeing the play in person and I loved it!! I was first introduced to The Forgotten Carols during COVID by my parents and I always loved listening to this soundtrack and your other music during my mission in New York. I returned from my mission right before thanksgiving this year and the adjustment has been really hard. Tonight has been a blessing for me and many messages touched my heart but no more than to not be scared! I guess you can forget carols as soon as you stop singing them so we can’t stop singing them! My family and I are so happy to hear that you and your donor are home safe and we pray that you and your donor will continue to heal properly! Your friends did great by the way! They definitely made me and my mom cry multiple times! Please give them my heartfelt gratitude! Thank you so much for the gift that you have given to the world!
Can’t wait to watch The Forgotten Carols again next year!
– Jaron
Micheal,
Thank you for this music and message which has touched my heart so many times. I first saw your show The Forgotten Carol’s decades ago when I was a child. It deeply impacted me then and continues to today. Though you would not know my name or recognize my face, you have made a difference to me, and I want to Thank you for touching my life for good. You have truly used your talents to help bring others to Christ, so regardless of the outcome of your surgery, I am sure it will be well with you. May you “arise and shine forth”.
I wish you the very best.
-Stephanie Hansen
Dear Micheal. I realise you have already had your transplant so my prayers are for a speedy and successful recovery. I have been attending The forgotten carols at The Dee Event Center. It has been my daughter and I’s Christmas tradition for 26 years so we have witnessed the many changes that have been made. However the things that haven’t changed are the spirit, the love and the joy. Thank you for all you have given us. My love to you and your family and your cast. God bless you. My tears at seeing you tonight have carried through the show. We love you.
I loved the original “Forgotten Carols” and have the video. Then I got the last video and love it even more. We saw the old play here in California 2 times and got cds with your autographs. This is one of our special Christmas traditions each year. Thank you so much for your talents and testimony.
We hope you have come through your surgery and are on the mend.
Love, The Pettitt family Los Alamitos, Ca.
Hi Michael,
The first time I saw The Forgotten Carols was when I was in New Jersey and you performed all of the parts. You and this amazing performance has been an integral part of the Christmas season for me and my family. You made my family’s Christmas that year. May God bless you on quick and speedy recovery.
Dear Michael
The Forgotten Carols touched our hearts more than 25 yrs ago. From the simple beginnings as a collection of music telling the story of the forgotten characters of Christmas, to the current Broadway worthy narrative, we have laughed, cried and always felt the love. Thank you for the many years of music, inspiration and faith that you have shared with our family. We truly love you and we hope a speedy recovery. As you always reminded us at the end of each performance. We will be together again, someday.
From -Arizona
Michael-
So sorry you are not with us tonight and wish you rapid healing. My nephew was a recipient of a heart and kidney. You are so fortunate as well. we will miss you tonight in Gilbert Az but I am sure that we will feel of your presence as we share your songs together. Thank you so much for helping families enjoy this time together through your beautiful music. We love you!
Brent & Susan Williams
Michael
I pray you have a quick recovery! 2022 marks my 31st year of attending or participating in the show. It has become my favorite family Christmas tradition! I enjoyed the show this year the cast did a great job, however, It just wasn’t the same. I missed the Michael magic ! I hope you and Lynn have a wonderful Christmas!
Hi Michael! I have been a fan of your music ever since I was a teenager. Your songs helped me strengthen my testimony of Christ. One in particular I remember was about a girl who prays to God about her role…Which Part is Mine and Which Part is Yours? It always brings me to tears. We are now raising big fans of The Forgotten Carols as our kids are now teenagers. My Christmas wish is for you to have a wonderful and full recovery. May God pour out his blessings on you.
Michael, I first saw the Forgotten Carols in the 90s. It instantly became a family tradition. I love the songs so much. But I was a fan of yours before that. Mr. Krueger’s Christmas was one of my favorites. So many of your songs seemed like they were written especially for me and my family and what we were going through at the time. They meant so much to me and really touched me deeply. Please know how much your music means to so many. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent with so many. May God bless you always in all things.
Mr. Mcalean,
First and foremost, we wish and pray for a speedy recovery. 2nd, thank you again for bringing such a wonderful program to our small town of Show Low, Az and allowing some of our kids to be a part in such an amazing experience. I can’t thank you enough!
Merry Christmas!
I attended the forgotten carols for the first time this year on December 1 in Tooele. The spirit was so strong and it was such a great way to start this season. I’m so grateful for all I felt and I will be praying for you to have this spirit with you as you are on this recovery journey. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world.
Brother Michael,
The Logan performance yesterday was almost as good as the other time we attended, it was in “95” at the late late showing….unforgettable, truly. The next day you and Bryce Newbert we’re at the Book Table, and I brought you two homemade bread…not thinking you would wonder if anything was in the bread 🤣😂 Even then you made ALL feel like family.🎄
I have thought and thought of what to say to bring you comfort now and through this very challenging time in yours and your family’s life journey. Know that God has helped you touch countless other brothers and sisters with this simple “Forgotten Carol’s” production.
You have been an example of sharing your testimony of Jesus Christ through music, I think forever. I’ll never forget my mission trainer, many years ago, giving me a CASSETTE recording that you had given her sister when you were promoting “Celebrating the Light” (because she learned how much I love music). We played it till the tape stretched and was ruined.
What I learned through that music, was how to use music to share my testimony. Someday I would love to thank you in person, so please recover well and remember we are ALL praying for you. God be with you through your surgery and beyond.💜
Sis Molly D.
Dear Michael:
Ohhhh….were you missed in Logan last night as the Forgotten Carols returned to Logan after a couple-year hiatus!
We missed both the show coming to Logan AND we missed YOU!!!
Thank you for allowing the show to come up to Cache Valley again and thanks be to Julie & Tyler for helping to make that possible!
The 8th of December will find us praying for your successful kidney transplant! We will pray for your health and safety so you have years yet to see the continued fruition of this wonderful production you were the genius mastermind behind!
We loved the way the show this year still included you, especially the ending…this traditional ending as we sing “We can be together forever someday” and “Silent Night”, has become the capstone of letting “Him” in this Christmas Season and allows a finishing touch to this great production that only you could’ve imagined in your studio!
Thank you for creating a masterpiece that has allowed the Kunz Family a great and continued Christmas tradition!
May the Lord bless you with health and bless your Family with Peace, not only on the 8th, but for many years to come!
With love,
Travis & Kamille Kunz Family
All the best, Michael and family! Praying for hope and healing!
Sincerely,
Ian Hayden
You are in our prayers. We’ve enjoyed many productions in the past beginning with a show at Loretto Heights when we were living in Colorado.
We also enjoyed your appearance with Tyler Griffin and Taylor Halverson on Book of Mormon Central. Your singing and your insights were helpful and refreshing.
Hardy & June Anderson (she is a Heber-ite)
Prayers for hope and healing, Michael and family! Merry Christmastime!
Sincerely,
Ian Hayden
My family enjoyed TFC tonight in Tooele. As always, it was beautifully performed and touched my heart. I remember a fireside you gave in Tooele so many years ago, I’ve followed and enjoyed your talents ever since! Thank you for bringing the spirit of Christmas to us and allowing the show to continue this season.
I will pray that your health improves and that your surgery goes as well as expected. And I also wish you and your family peace this Christmas season.
Your music helped me get through some really hard times in my life! You are definitely an instrument in Gods hands! I pray now that you will be in Gods hands and all will go well for you and your family! I am sending lots a prayers and love your way!
I’m writing this during intermission of The Forgotten Carols. I’ve been coming for over 20 years and I’ll be honest when I saw you weren’t here, I teared up. But what a wonderful way to keep the show going, but have you a part of it! This show has been a wonderful tradition to usher in the Christmas spirit. Thank you, thank you – for all the years of effort, music, inspiration and love you shared with us. I hope you can feel the love back. We will be praying for your speedy recovery and wish you and your family a very merry Christmas.
Michael, wishing you all the best. You have touched my life with your music, books, Mr. Kruger’s Christmas but especially The Forgotten Carols. I will be forever grateful to you for the opportunity to share the play with my parents. My dad had just gotten active again. The year after we took him, he passed away. Mom and I felt his presence the next year we came to the production. My mom passed away almost 2 years ago. Tonight after seeing the production, my heart was filled with the feeling my mom was there linking up with me. Thank you, thank you!
This is the 4th time I have been the production, each time something different effects me or touches me. This time one of my grandsons is singing in the choir and quartets
Thank you
Sharon
Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talents with us over the years. You are an a inspiration and example of being an instrument in God’s hands. His message has changed my heart over the years and I am grateful for those who invite us to “Let Him In”. May His tender mercies continue to be with you and your family through this time of your life. May God bless you with all that you need. With love,
Becky
Micheal, What you do is amazing watching your play warms my heart each year. We read your book as a family tradition each year with forgotten carols themed food. Thank you for all you do and I wish you a speedy recovery!
I can’t fully express how much your inspired music and testimony has meant to me and my family for so many years. Thank you for the beautiful gift you have given to the world. It has truly brought so many closer to the Savior, specially for my 16 year old son. Thank you for helping us remember that the vail is thin and we can be together forever. We are praying for you that the surgery and recovery go well. May you be able to have a wonderful Christmas with a healing body!
Dear Michael, we are wishing you for a successful surgery and healthy recovery on December 8th. Thank you for your amazing talent of music and songs. Thank you for allowing us to continue on our family tradition of seeing the Forgotten Carols for the past 16 years in person. It is the best to get myself and my husband into the true meaning of Christmas. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
I’m one of the 99. I’m basically doing fine. Since I was a young teen I have loved The Forgotten Carols and your music. Every year my family has read the story or watched the movie and we created forgotten carol ornaments each year. When we were fortunate to live close by we attended performances. Now my babies are older and they still carry the tradition with them. We are all wishing you the very best during this time. May angels look over you (even the ones that cannot sing) and bring you peace. Don’t be so scared for unto you a child is born.
With a grateful heart,
The Hayes Tribe
Call us Forgotten Carols Groupies. We’ve watched the show grow and transform over the decades with loving adoration. My high school girlfriend introduced me to the show in 1996 and we were married in ‘99, making it part of our Christmas tradition. Our kids have grown up with it year after year. As they’ve left home, we make sure they all have a copy of The Forgotten Carols to share with their families as they grow.
Best wishes this holiday season to Michael and Lynne. Sending you much love, healing and Christmas wishes from Idaho Falls.
Your Forgotten Carols show and music is such an inspiration for my life! The last time I was in Idaho Falls for a show, I was just a baby in my mom’s stomach, and you had told my mom that I would be a special kid. I like to believe that I’m special partly because of those kind words to my mom. I will be praying lots that the inspiration and kindness you have shown comes back to you as you receive your kidney transplant. I will be praying lots that the doctors will know what to do, and that you will be able to heal well and quickly after the transplant.
We’re all with you!!!
We are seated in our traditional seats in Idaho Falls with our 4 daughters and spouses, just as we’ve done for nearly every single year since you started, of course adding these wonderful men along the way! You helped us raise 4 beautiful daughters with your music and stories. Yours were the CDs we listened to on every car trip, when seeing off our ‘friend’ missionaries, and when my husband and I needed a boost. We pray for your health and hope things go smoothly for you. I can never thank you enough for your inspiration that was always spot-on when we needed it! We love you Michael!!
My friend, I pray your surgery goes well! I just finished watching your show in Idaho falls, and I am overwhelmed with the feeling of the spirit. I am a 19 year old who grew up watching this as a tradition with my family, and it’s safe to say you have changed my life. Music is such a wonderful thing. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Thank you for giving us this gift. While it was sad to not see you here, I thought Young did amazing and I’m glad to see it continue. I pray your surgery goes well. Thanks again ☺️
Many prayers, well wishes, and healing to you!! What a blessing to your family and all of us around the world to get to still have you here with us because of the miracle of a new kidney! Many sincere thanks for continuing the legacy of The Forgotten Carols. It’s been a sweet, special tradition in our family to usher in the Christmas season every year with understanding the true spirit of what the season brings through John and Connie Lou for 30 years!
Remembering Bakersfield, CA and ‘helping to finish the venue’ in the back of a bookstore 😉 while you set up for your show. First time request for a song Jeff sang. The lifetimes of living we’ve done since then?! Always grateful for you and your willingness to share your talent. Know in your heart of hearts you are in our every specific prayer! Our Hearts to Yours, Barbara-Lynn & Ted
Michael, Forgotten Carols has become a tradition for my wife & I beginning in’92 when you were a one-man show. We loved getting to know you through your wife when she sat next to us at the Bakersfield LDS bookstore concerts you gave to help that store owner. I’m also the one that night who requested a song from Jeff’s album, the first time anyone had done so. Our prayers are with you.
Hello from Idaho!
Michael & Cast,
Each time that my daughter and I see your show my heart is completely full. I started seeing The Forgotten Carols as a youth and now I take my daughter yearly as a tradition. We started when she was 10. She is now 20. We also make it a point to bring along with us, someone who hasn’t had the opportunity to feel the love of your message before. It’s always an amazing experience. Although you aren’t able to travel in person, I loved seeing you as part of the production. We are wishing you a very speedy recovery. Thank you, and your cast, for shining your lights into the world and sharing your talents as well as your hearts with us.
Michael
We are so happy that you will be receiving a transplant in early December. You are so talented and we love The Forgotten Carols. We play the DVD often.
You will be missed this year but hope that you will be able to be back next year. Wishing you the very best, a successful transplant and a complete recovery.
We will be praying for you. 🙏
We are wishing all of the best for you and your family! We just saw “The Forgotten Carols” here in Boise, and loved it. We felt your spirit here, too. We had purchased the video in October to orient our developmentally disabled daughter to the program, and she has watched it almost daily since then. Also, your wonderful presentation with Hank Smith and John Bytheway was magical!
Thank you for all of the incredible, spiritual ways you have touched so many lives. We will be praying for a successful transplant and many, many more years of blessing
Michael you and your family were missed so much at Forgotten Carols this year. So glad that you are going to be able to have the transplant. You and your family will be in our prayers that all will go well. Also praying for the wonderful donor that was willing to help you.
Thank you for allowing the program to continue on. I’ve been to almost all 30 years of Forgotten Carols so Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without it. Many blessings to all of you.
We will keep you and your family in our prayers as you receive this amazing gift on a new kidney. I hope it all goes well and your recovery is as quick and painless as possible. I have been a fan of yours and the Forgotten Carols for the last 30 years. It means so much to me and I have loved sharing this amazing story with my husband and daughter. Thank you for this wonderful gift of love and the real reason for the season. It’s not Christmas to me until I read and listen to The Forgotten Carols.
Michael we first saw The Forgotten Carols in 1997 or 98 with our children in Idaho Falls. These songs remain our very favorites! Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. We are so pleased to be able to see this again in 2022 with the Grands. Prayers for you and your upcoming surgery!❤️
Hey Michael!
I was introduced to The Forgotten Carols a few years ago by a friend, and ever since then I have joined this wonderful family each year. I am thankful for the message that blesses me personally, and now invite my own friends and family to come and hear (perhaps they, too, will come and stay). I cannot express my thanks and love for you and all the great actors who have continued to make this running tradition stick around with additional meaning. I found out today that you have an upcoming transplant and am happy for you. I will keep you in my prayers, as I am sure many of us will. I wish you a speedy recovery and can’t wait to hear of your success.
Happy Holidays!
Tyler
Pleasure to met a few of you today on my hike with Tully!
Thanks for the tip, I grabbed tickets for us tonight:)
Happy Holidays!!
Michael,
I hope everything goes well with your surgery in the near future! You and your music are a major blessing in my life and have been ever since I was 8 and my family was dealing with my father having ALS and going to leave us soon. Your songs “You’re Not Alone”, “The Milkmaids Daughter”, and “The Forgotten Carols” saved me and that is not an understatement. It made me remember on my toughest days through youth and now adulthood that I was loved always and though my father had left he was still there to love and support me just in a different way. Now as a father myself I play it for my kids and even appreciate your music more as I see the value of your lyrics from an eternal perspective and what matters most in this life. I tell you all of this just to add my name to the long list of those whose lives you have changed for the better. May God bless you and your loved ones and I hope you have a great holiday season.
-Jeff
I’ve waited 30 years to see your performance and with a big busy family, it wasn’t doable for us, sadly and I almost waited too long! Thank you for sharing your gifts and talent!
Good sir! Your amazing writing and lyrics are what I look forward to the most about the Christmas season! For all you have done to better the world and give families a place to remember what it is all about on this earth, society can’t repay you. But our family has been listening to The Forgotten Carols for four generations now. And will continue to be passed on as a family tradition. Thank you so much for all you have done. And we will be praying for a safe surgery and speedy recovery. 🙏
Michael!
We are praying for you and your family!
We will also be at the Carols this year and will miss you!
Thank you for the gift of this beautiful music, It touches my soul.
